"I came in convinced I was the problem."
“I came in convinced I was the problem. I left understanding I was the survivor of one.”
Tasha M., circle since 2023
When Tasha first walked into a S.H.E. mentorship circle, she didn't speak for the first three weeks. She listened. She brought her notebook. She watched the other sisters carry their stories into the room and out again, a little lighter each time.
"By week four, I told one thing I'd never told anyone," she remembers. "By month three, I was helping someone else say theirs out loud."
Tasha now mentors two sisters of her own, and is in her second year of nursing school.
